SPELLING BEE

 

Welcome to the 2019-20 Park Record Bee/Scripps National Spelling Bee season!

Fact: in addition to improving students spelling skills and increasing their vocabularies, spelling bee participation provides valuable experience in developing poise- a necessary skill for success in public speaking, performing arts and athletics.

Save the date! The written qualifier test will take place on December (TBD), 2019 at JRES right after school.

There will be separate qualifier tests for 2nd-3rd grades and 4th-8th grades which will include both spelling and multiple choice vocabulary. Grade level lists will be coming home with your student this week- it's time to start studying!

Top scorers will go on to compete at the Park Record Bee on (DATE: TBD) and the champion of the 4th-8th grade ​bee will represent Summit & Wasatch counties in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington DC.
